On June 25, the Frontier Science and Social Co-creation Initiative held ZATSUDAN NO CHIKARA "The Power of Conversation: Opening the World with Light — A Dialogue with Hamamatsu Photonics on the Connection Between Technology and Society' at the Kakuma Campus, with 15 students, faculty, and staff.
"This time, Mr. Tadashi Maruno, President and CEO of Hamamatsu Photonics K.K., was invited as a guest. At the beginning of the event, Mr. Maruno introduced his career, professional background, and the company’s initiatives. During the subsequent conversation session, three additional employees from the company joined in, leading to a lively exchange of ideas with questions raised about research, work styles, and more.
Participants shared impressions such as, "I was drawn to the company’s free and flexible corporate culture and research environment," and "I gained a deeper understanding of how university learning can be applied in a corporate setting." The event proved to be a valuable time filled with learning and new insights.
ZATSUDAN NO CHIKARA" is an exchange initiative that creates casual spaces for dialogue between university students, faculty, and local community members. By encouraging open discussions that transcend industries, job roles, and positions, the program aims to support students in shaping their careers and foster idea generation among faculty and participating companies.
